Two years ago in the middle of my student teaching God made it very clear that I wasn't going to be working in a classroom but instead in his mission field. So over the past two years I've been doing my best to listen and follow wherever God calls me. Through lots of prayer and a very much God series of events I've been chosen as a member of GBGM's Mission Intern Class of 2011.
GBGM is the General Board of Global Ministry for the United Methodist Church and I'll be working for their Youth and Young Adult as a Missionary for three years or in short I will be a YAM (Young Adult Missionary). I'll be spending the first year and a half serving in Hong Kong with Mission for Migrant Workers as a Volunteer Case Officer helping Workers who approach us with a wide variety of things from immigration issues, to breaks in the contract, to helping through the court system and much in between. After 18 months in Hong Kong I will come back and serve with the Filipino Migrants Centre in Long Beach, California. A young organization that does similar work with the Filipino community in and around Long Beach that the Mission does in Hong Kong.
This is my attempt to record God's events in my life during this time.
